DESCRIPTION

This gem is variously called Gem Chrysocolla, gem silica or agatated chrysocolla. It is one of the rarest and arguably the most beautiful of all chalcedony. It looks a bit like turquoise, but has a more saturated color, is much harder, lacks porosity and takes a finer finish. A highly saturated very slightly greenish blue hue. A stone of extraordinary rarity with all the durability of agate. 17.2 x 11.7

Comments: Exceptionally saturated color, It is a bit too green and lacks the translucency of a perfect 10. Fine quality stones are truly rare!

The grading categories used here are based on the approach recommended in my book: Secrets Of The Gem Trade, The Connoisseur's Guide To Precious Gemstones.
